For a few years now, summer has become packed with game-related events! Now with the GameZanga over, a new upcoming event has been added to our calendars for a few years now, making the final days of the summer vacation less intolerable and more interesting. And that is ‘Run Double Jump‘!

Made for indies by indies, RDJ aims to connect the gamers with the game developers in the Egyptian gaming scene; while the indies showcase their games, the gamers can get to play it, give feedback and even vote for it for the “Audience-choice” award! Co-organized by IGDA Egypt Chapter and 2024 studios, the event takes place every year around late August or early September at the Information Technology Institute in Smart Village. This year, it takes place on August 31st (Friday) so really there’s no excuse for not attending it!

“Run Double Jump aims to fill the missing link between gamers and game developers in Egypt.” Says Walid, co-founder in 2024 studios and co-organizer in RDJ. “And at the same time, gamers can get to see the solid ground of the current game development community, hear about the indies’ stories, and know about the problems they face in their work and current environment.”

While the showcase might be the event’s major highlight, it’s not all what RDJ offers! In addition to the sessions that experts in the Egyptian industry would give, RDJ’s judging committee would choose one of the showcased games to get the chance to win and take part in Indie Prize taking place at London, May 2019.

Admissions are for free, though it’s required to register here. If you wish to become a speaker, or show case your game, you can follow the registration procedures available on their event’s page here. You can follow the event on Facebook or 2024 studios and IGDA Egypt Chapter for more news.

Happy Gamin’!
